Oldfield Bathrooms & Kitchens are proud to be supporting Janet Darwell in her 500mile walk challenge along the Pilgrims walk through France & Spain to Santiago de Compostela. Janet has been a keen cyclist for over 35 years and enjoyed both competitive cycling and touring. She has participated in time trials, 24 hour endurance events, rode across Europe and also from Lands End to John O Groats. So she’s no stranger to a challenge!

So for 2014 she set herself a new challenge…. she is planning to walk the Pilgrims Route, taking  her 500 miles through France and Spain to Santiago de Compostela.  She will be walking with her sister-in-law (a lifelong runner). They will be sleeping in hostels along the route and eating in local eateries.

Janet is funding the walk herself but she has decided to involve the local community to raise money for Fortalice. She has enlisted the help of BWFC, Bolton Arena, Claypool Primary School, Markland Hill Primary School, David LLoyd Bolton, Bolton Hot Wheels Cycling Club, Horwich Harriers & us, Oldfield Bathrooms & Kitchens!! To name but a few!!!

Fortalice is a charity that Janet has been supporting for years in helping with their Christmas gift wrapping service. They do wonderful work helping and supporting women and children in Bolton who are victims of domestic violence. Janet is funding the trip herself so every penny you can spare will help them to help others. All the money raised will be used for setting up a counselling service for young children who have suffered trauma through the domestic abuse that they have witnessed or suffered.

I am asking for the help and support of our friends & customers to get together for their own challenges to help us to raise money for Fortalice. As a community I feel that we can really make a difference to these women and children who need our help and support. This is why I am also requesting your support.

On the 7th April 2014 Bolton Wanderers, in conjunction with Fortalice, are hosting the launch of Janet’s fundraising. The launch will take place at the BWFC stadium at 11am with the Mayor and Moyoress of Bolton. Fortalice is one of his charity’s.

I have attached a copy of the letter from Fortalice to confirm Janet’s intentions. If you wish to make a donation then please visit her Just Giving page; www.justgiving.com/Janet-Darwell. I am hoping that you will all be able to help or even set yourselves a challenge!

Many thanks
